The Chemelot Institute for Science & Technology (Chemelot InSciTe) is a public-private institute that bundles the strengths of leaders in the development and application of biomedical materials and the production of biobased materials:

  • global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company Royal DSM
  • Eindhoven University of Technology
  • Maastricht University & University Medical Center
  • These founding fathers invite academic and industrial partners from all over the world to join them in applied and translational R&D in an open innovation ecosystem with its physical nucleus at Chemelot Campus in the south of the Netherlands.

InSciTe helps entrepreneurs start, settle and grow. Combines strengths in a joint program of pioneering R&D in biomedical applications and biobased materials. Accelerates experimentation through a shared R&D & piloting infrastructure. And last but not least, offers education via courses, training and extracurricular activities to help attract, develop, retain and connect the next generation of biomedical and biobased materials talent.

InSciTe will actively pursue cooperation with other partners that have complementary skills. As part of a wider regional innovation ecosystem, it builds on the services already offered to scientists and entrepreneurs. InSciTe will be a pillar of Dutch and international innovation in biomedical and biobased materials.
